D100 roller
Roll a physical d100 or RPG percentile dice.
A d100 has two legitimate meanings at the table. Dice Roller supports both: one animated 100-face physical die, or the RPG-standard percentile pair with tens and units d10s.
Use the d100 roller
Open the main tool, type 1d100 for the physical die, or choose percentile mode for RPG d100:
- Physical d100 β 100 faces: the default: one modeled, animated 100-face die.
- Percentile dice β 2d10: the tabletop option for loot tables, encounters, and percentile systems.
How percentile d100 works
Percentile dice use two ten-sided dice. One die reads tens: 00, 10, 20β¦90. The other reads units: 0β9.
| Tens die | Units die | Result |
|---|---|---|
00 | 0 | 100 |
00 | 7 | 7 |
40 | 2 | 42 |
90 | 9 | 99 |
Physical d100 vs percentile dice
A physical d100 is real, but it is less common at many RPG tables because the ball-like shape can be slower to settle and harder to read. Percentile dice are faster: two d10s give the same 1β100 range and the result is immediately visible.
The tool keeps both modes because players search for βd100 rollerβ with different expectations.
Common d100 uses
- Random encounter and treasure tables.
- Percentile RPG systems and skill checks.
- Critical hit tables, wild magic tables, mishap tables, and downtime events.
- Board-game or solo-RPG prompts that need a 1β100 result.
D100 questions
Is d100 the same as d%?
Usually yes in RPG notation. d% means a percentile roll from 1 to 100, normally read with two d10s.
Does this site roll a real 100-face die?
Yes. Physical d100 mode uses one modeled 100-face die in the 3D engine. Percentile mode uses two d10s.
What is the chance of rolling 100?
One result out of 100: exactly 1% in either mode when the random source is uniform.
